Choose Intent for spec-driven work, where a coordinator splits a task across specialist agents and a verifier checks the result. Choose intentic when you want agents in a Docker sandbox that keeps running on its own and opens in any browser.
Intent's docs now say it is Apache-2.0 open source, and Augment's product page redirects to intentapp.dev. Both tools run agents on your own subscriptions and give each task a git worktree.

The main differences
A living spec or a plan per conversation
An Intent workspace can start from a living spec that updates as the work evolves, and a coordinator delegates to implementers and verifiers, each on a provider you choose. intentic runs one agent per conversation on its own branch; plan mode has it propose before editing, and you review every change before it lands.
Desktop app or browser workspace
Intent is a desktop app for macOS, with Windows and Linux builds in alpha, plus an iPhone and iPad app that remote-controls it. intentic opens in any browser, on any phone or computer, over a Docker sandbox.
Moving work between machines
Intent runs on your computer or on an intentd service on a Linux server, Mac or Windows PC, and can transfer a workspace between machines. intentic runs agents in a sandbox on the host you choose, so a sandbox on a server keeps working while your laptop is closed.
When to choose Intent
Pick Intent if your work benefits from a spec that agents keep current, a coordinator that splits work across specialists, and providers you can mix per role, with a retry on another provider when one hits its limit. It is free, and its iPhone app and workspace transfer suit people who move between machines. Choose intentic for sandboxed agents in a browser workspace.
