Choose Claude Squad if you live in the terminal and want a light way to run several CLI agents on one machine. Choose intentic when you want those agents in a sandbox you reach from any browser, with plan approval and file-by-file review.
Both are free open-source software and both use git worktrees. The difference is where the work runs and how you reach it, not whether either can run agents in parallel.
Claude Squad vs intentic: at a glance
▸ marks Claude Squad's strengths (2 rows)
Parallel agents on separate branches · Both give each task its own git worktree and run the agent CLIs you already pay for. A worktree separates branches; it does not stop an agent from touching the rest of the machine.

The main differences
A TUI on one machine or a browser workspace
Claude Squad is a terminal UI over tmux sessions on the machine you start it on. intentic runs agents in a Docker sandbox and shows them on a board in the browser, so a phone or a second laptop opens the same runs.
Windows support and requirements
Claude Squad publishes Windows builds, but it needs tmux, and its install script points Windows users to WSL for that. It also expects the GitHub CLI. intentic needs a supported Docker host for the sandbox; the workspace opens in any browser.
Review, permissions and recurring work
Claude Squad has a diff tab and can commit, push or pause a session. Its auto-accept mode is marked experimental. intentic starts agents in plan mode, groups changes by file before they land, and can start runs from schedules or events.
When to choose Claude Squad
Pick Claude Squad if you want a fast terminal tool for several agents on the machine in front of you, with no container or web service to maintain. It works with almost any CLI agent. Consider intentic when you need the runs on another device, or sandboxed and reviewed work.
Claude Squad: common questions
What is a good Claude Squad alternative?
It depends on what you want to change. For a browser interface, compare intentic or Vibe Kanban; intentic also runs agents in a Docker sandbox. For a desktop app, compare Conductor or Sculptor. If you only want another terminal tool, Claude Squad may already be the lighter choice.
Claude Squad vs Conductor: what is the difference?
Claude Squad is a free AGPL terminal app with builds for macOS, Linux and Windows. Conductor is a proprietary Mac desktop app with a free local tier and paid cloud workspaces. Both use git worktrees. intentic is a third option if you want a browser workspace on your own machine.
Does Claude Squad work on Windows?
Its releases include Windows builds, but it depends on tmux, and the official install script tells Windows users to install tmux through WSL or another method. Plan for WSL. intentic opens in a browser on Windows; its sandbox needs a supported Docker host.
Is Claude Squad free and open source?
Yes. It is free under AGPL-3.0, a copyleft licence: modified versions you distribute or run as a network service must stay under the same terms. MIT has no such condition. intentic is MIT and free to self-host.
Can I use Claude Squad remotely or from my phone?
Remote access is not documented. Claude Squad runs in tmux on one machine, so you can reach that machine over SSH yourself, but there is no web or mobile client. intentic connects your browser to the sandbox over a private tunnel, including from a phone.
Which agents does Claude Squad support?
Claude Code by default, plus Codex, Gemini, Aider and other terminal agents passed as a program or saved as profiles. The repository also names OpenCode and Amp.
