# Warp vs intentic: Oz, Warp Factories or agents on your machine

Warp now spans an open-source terminal, an agent CLI and a cloud agent platform. Oz is becoming a legacy interface as Warp Factories takes over. Compare where agents run, review and team controls.

Warp offers an open-source terminal built for AI-assisted development, an agent CLI that works in any terminal, and Warp Factories: open infrastructure for cloud software factories, defined in code, on Warp-hosted or your own runners.

The short answer

Choose Warp for a strong terminal plus managed cloud agents on Linux, macOS or Windows runners, with factories defined in code, SSO and triggers from Slack, Linear and GitHub. Choose intentic when the agents, the code and the keys should stay on a machine you run, behind a browser workspace.

Warp has renamed its Oz agent UI to Warp Agent, and Warp Factories is in early access. Existing Oz workflows still use the Oz web app, CLI and SDKs.

Agents that work while you are away · Both run coding agents with no terminal open, start them from schedules or outside events, and show the runs in a browser. Both can run Claude Code and Codex.

| Dimension | intentic | Warp |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Product | Browser workspace around a sandbox on your machine | Terminal, agent CLI and cloud agent platform |
| Licence | MIT throughout | Terminal client AGPL-3.0; Factories is a hosted service |
| Cloud runners | Your machine, or an optional hosted sandbox | ▸Warp-hosted Linux containers and macOS and Windows VMs |
| Orchestration | A worktree per conversation on a fleet board | ▸Factories as code with supervisor, fan-out, critic and DAG workflows |
| Triggers | Schedules, webhooks and service events | ▸Slack, Linear, Jira, GitHub, GitLab, schedules, API and SDK |
| Self-hosting | The whole workspace runs on your hardware by default | Self-hosted workers on Enterprise; Warp stores transcripts |
| Teams | Free shared workspaces; teammates invited by email | ▸SSO, role-based access and a shared Warp Drive |

## The main differences

01

### Managed runners or your own machine

Warp-hosted runners start each agent in a fresh Docker container on Linux or a fresh VM on macOS and Windows. Self-hosted workers need an Enterprise plan, and Warp still stores the transcripts and outputs. intentic runs agents in a Docker sandbox on your hardware, or an optional hosted one.

02

### Factories as code or a fleet board

A Warp factory defines repositories, credentials, work sources and runners in code, with supervisor, fan-out, critic and DAG workflows and a verify stage before you merge. intentic gives each conversation a git worktree on a board, and you land the work after review.

03

### A terminal or a workspace

Warp's terminal runs Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and other agents locally, with diff review and inline comments. intentic does not replace your terminal: it is a browser workspace with an editor, terminal and diffs around a sandbox.

## When to choose Warp

Pick Warp if you want a strong terminal and managed cloud agents your team can trigger from Slack, Linear or GitHub, with macOS and Windows runners, SSO and factories you can version and measure. Choose intentic when you want the workspace, the agents and the credentials on hardware you control from the start.

## Warp: common questions

### What is Warp Oz, and is it now Warp Factories?

Oz is Warp's cloud agent platform. Warp has renamed its Oz agent UI to Warp Agent and launched Warp Factories, in early access, for new multi-stage workflows. The Oz web app, CLI and SDKs remain for existing cloud-agent workflows.

### Is Warp open source?

The Warp terminal client has been open source since April 2026, under AGPL-3.0, with its UI framework under MIT. Factories and the cloud platform are a hosted service. intentic is MIT, including the sandbox and CLI that run on your machine.

### Warp vs Claude Code: what is the difference?

Claude Code is Anthropic's coding agent. Warp is a terminal that can run Claude Code locally, plus its own Warp Agent and cloud runners that can use Claude Code or Codex as the harness. intentic runs Claude Code in a sandbox on your machine, alongside other agents.

### Can Warp cloud agents run on my own infrastructure?

Yes, on an Enterprise plan: self-hosted workers run tasks in Docker, Kubernetes or directly on a host. Warp still coordinates the runs and stores transcripts and outputs. intentic's sandbox runs on your machine by default, and its platform stores none of your code.

### What are the best Warp alternatives?

It depends on the part you replace. Any terminal can run Claude Code or Codex. For managed cloud agents, compare Devin, Codex cloud or Cursor's cloud agents. For agents on your own hardware with a browser workspace, compare intentic.

### Does Warp work on Windows and Linux?

Yes. Warp's terminal ships Windows x64 and ARM64 builds and Linux .deb, .rpm and AppImage packages, and Warp-hosted runners include Windows VMs. intentic opens in any browser; its sandbox needs a Docker host.
