The short answer

Choose Sculptor for a free desktop app built around Claude Code, with pull requests and CI in view, on a Mac or Linux. Choose intentic when you want agents in a Docker sandbox you can reach from any browser, including on Windows, and work that keeps running on a server.

Sculptor's current docs describe git worktrees by default and Docker only as an experimental backend. Older articles that describe a container per agent are out of date.

## The main differences

01

### Desktop app or browser workspace

Sculptor ships desktop builds for Apple Silicon Macs and Linux; its FAQ lists no Windows or mobile support. intentic opens in any browser, including a phone, and runs agents in a sandbox on your laptop, desktop or server.

02

### How agents are isolated

A Sculptor workspace is a git worktree by default, with clone and in-place modes as experiments. Its Docker, SSH or VM backend is marked unstable. intentic always runs agents in a Docker sandbox, with a git worktree for each conversation inside it.

03

### Pull requests and CI

Sculptor shows PR status, approvals and CI inline, and its CI Babysitter asks an agent to fix failing checks and merge conflicts. intentic lands accepted work in your checkout and can start agents from pipeline failures, issues or schedules.

## When to choose Sculptor

Pick Sculptor if you run Claude Code on a Mac or Linux desktop and want a free, focused app for parallel sessions with pull requests and CI in view. It needs no Docker by default. Choose intentic when you need Windows or phone access, sandboxed agents, or agents that keep working on a server.

## Sculptor: common questions

### What is Imbue Sculptor?

Sculptor is a free, MIT-licensed desktop app from Imbue for running coding agents in parallel. It integrates Claude Code and the Pi harness, gives each workspace a git worktree and adds diffs, commits and pull requests. Its README calls it a research preview; the product page shows a beta badge.

### Is Sculptor a GUI for Claude Code?

Largely, yes. Claude Code is its main integrated agent and uses your existing Claude or Claude Max plan. Pi is available in experimental settings for other providers, and other terminal agents can run inside Sculptor. intentic also runs Claude Code, alongside Codex, Grok, Kimi Code and Gemini.

### Is Sculptor free and open source?

Yes. It is MIT-licensed with no paid tier, and Imbue says it does not resell tokens. You need a model provider such as a Claude plan. Outside pull requests need a maintainer's approval before they are opened. intentic is also MIT and free to self-host.

### Does Sculptor work on Windows?

Not currently. Its FAQ lists Apple Silicon Macs and Linux, with no Windows or mobile support. intentic works in a browser on Windows, and its sandbox runs on a supported Docker host, which can be the same PC or a server.

### Does Sculptor run agents in Docker containers?

Not by default. Current docs make each workspace a git worktree. An experimental backend can run Sculptor's backend in Docker, on a server over SSH or in a VM. intentic runs every agent in a Docker sandbox and gives each conversation a git worktree inside it.

### Sculptor vs Conductor: which should I choose?

Both are desktop apps for parallel agents with git worktrees. Sculptor is free MIT software for Apple Silicon Macs and Linux. Conductor is a proprietary Mac app with a free local tier and paid cloud workspaces. intentic is the browser-based option for any operating system.
